End of 23 things

This was a very fast paced, interesting program, where I learned a lot of new information. Now, will I retain all of it? Probably not. I wish that the program had been 10 things - that way I could feel that I would master all of it. Did I enjoy doing it. Yes, I am grateful for the opportunity. Thank you for putting it all together for us.

Library audiobooks

This is a program that is slowly taking off. I like the titles that we have in our collection, and how easy it is to checkkout an audiobook for downloading or 'burning'.

Podcasts

I loved the Denver Public Library's idea for their podcast of letting children listen to the books. Thought that was a great idea. Of all the sites listed to search for different podcasts, I found NPR Podcast Directory to be the best one to find the correct information.

YouTube

Okay - something I do know something about. My son has seen every spearfishing YouTube video out there. Now I'm being paid to watch a few.

Web 2.0 awards

I chose travel and was disappointed, Farecast and Kayak are only sites that give you rates on hotel and flight deals through Hotwire, Expedia, Priceline and such.
The honorable mention site, Gusto, however, was interesting. If you put in a destination it tells you sites to see, which is what I wanted.

ZOHO

Free software, but signing up for yet another account, another password. I like that you can access from any computer.

Web 2.0 sandbox

It was interesting reading others favorites. I added my favorite vacation spot, and my favorite book.

Wikis

I liked wetpaint.com the best of all the recommended sites. Perhaps the library could use a wiki for book reviews, or recommending books, or evaluations of programs.

Perspectives

Read all the perspectives. I do need to learn more about Library 2.0 to understand how it can benefit us. Libraries should always be a pleasant place to visit and I think some patrons enjoy the personal service.

Technorati

I was not too impressed with Technorati. Extisp.icio.us was interesting though, I was playing around with user names and had an interesting time.

Week 6

Learned a lot this week. Sure wished this project had been 10 things to learn. There is too much moaning going on around here. I liked Del.icio.us and opened an account. On the perspectives on Library 2.0 - I believe the future of libraries is still bright. People still like to cuddle in bed with a good book.

Webfeat

I used this for several searches and was disappointed, except for the medical research part. I will still go to Yahoo first, but for specific medical info this site could be useful.
